Peter walks into the hospital…

Bobbi heard the shutter of his camera click, and her eyes opened slowly, “Nnn…” she cooed softly, trying to adjust herself and wincing from her injured arm. When she looked up and her eyes adjusted she blinked, “Peter Parker?” she rubbed her eyes with her left hand, looking again to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.

It would be a lie to say she wasn’t happy to see him. She was very excited to see the handsome superhero in front of her, “What are you doing here?” She struggled to sit up.

“Just this,” he let her see the photo he had taken. “I’m taking photos for my portfolio.”

Peter looked over her again and gave an agonized face. “Gosh, who did this to you?” he asked. “This is probably SHIELD duty damage, huh?”

Peter slumped in the chair beside Bobbi’s bed and began scanning through the pictures on his camera.

“When are you getting out of here?”

Her cheeks flushed slightly seeing the photo. “Yeah… SHIELD damage… ” she sighed, “Never get shot… please, I don’t think I could take you being in the hospital.” She looked over at him, “I don’t know when I’m getting out, I wanted to escape but everyone is telling me that’s a bad idea.”

“I’m sorry by the way,” she continued to look at him, “For being a bitch to you when we first met and you first became part of the team.”

Peter walks into the hospital…

He heads over to the reception. “Hi, I’m Peter Parker, I called a few days ago.”

The receptionist lights up. “Your the boy that wanted to take photos around the hospital, right?”

Peter smiled. “Yes, for my portfolio.”

“Well, go ahead, dear,” said the receptionist.

Peter gave a slight bow and headed off. He wanted to capture some bittersweet moments: old people in bed or wheelchairs but still happy, recovering patients talking and laughing, that sort of stuff.

As he walked passed one door, he suddenly stopped, took a step back, and peeked in. He knew he recognized the woman on the bed.

He silently walked in and gave a slight chuckle. It was Bobbi Morse. However, he looked more carefully to see just what had happened to her. This made him wince. Then again, Peter knew that this was Bobbi’s line of work.

Peter looked out the window and saw just how perfect the lighting was and smiled. He got his camera, knelt down, and snapped a photo of Bobbi. It wasn’t meant to be a joke though. He looked at the shot he made and smiled to himself. It was perfect.

“Beautiful,” he muttered.

“…you passed out….moving your arm…” Rhodey shot her a pointed look before sighing, “Of course you hate hospitals. Everyone in that house seems to hate hospitals. Can’t be because you guys seem to be going in and out of them like clockwork.” He joked and shook his head, absentmindedly stroking a thumb over the back of her hand, “All that matters is that you heal up.”

She nodded, “Okay Rhodey… I’ll make sure to not try and escape,” she said playfully, giving his hand another tight squeeze, “how is Tony by the way… He’s alright, isn’t he?”

“Try? How about not doing it at all.” He chuckled and squeezed her hand back before glancing down at their clasped hands, “He’s…we got him in time. I just wish we got him sooner…the man’s never alright to be honest. He’ll lie about it and keep it to himself but he has more people in his life to help now, the things he went through? That stuff…that stuff won’t go away.” he trailed off, thinking about soldiers he worked with and the PTSD that never goes away and only fades.

Bobbi frowned, “I wish we could have found him sooner… I should have hit the pavement harder… I should have done more… I shouldn’t have gone down so easy.”
